So it’s 8:45 a.m. and I’ve been up since 4:40 a.m. My husband and I hit the gym at 5:00 a.m. every morning, Monday-Friday, for our workout time. I am now getting ready to head out to teach my 9:45 a.m. fitness class at a local gym and then power through the rest of my day. So I’m just wondering… when do you fit your workout into your day? If you’re a Lark, like my husband and I, then working out in the early morning maybe your best time. If you’re a night Owl, then evening would probably be your best bet. Either way, make sure when you enter your workout time you have set aside for yourself that you have the energy, mindset and game plan to get the job done and to get the most out of your efforts. It’s important to make your workouts a constant in your crazy busy schedule. We need to keep our bodies strong especially as we get older, so the earlier in life you make it a habit the better off you will be, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Looking for a quick and easy pre or post workout snack? Try these amazingly delicious Protein Poppers made from my own Naughty Nutty Love nut butter of course.
2 very ripe bananas
2 cups peanut butter (almond butter or cashew butter)
2 scoops of your favorite protein powder
Mash up the bananas in a bowl (I like to use a potato masher).
Add the peanut butter and mix well.
Add the protein powder, one scoop at a time, and mix well.
Line a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with wax paper. Use a small cookie scooper and
drop the protein balls onto the wax paper (they will be approx. 1 ounce in size)
Put the pan in the freezer to set. Once they are firm you can put them in a zip lock bag on plastic container and store in the freezer. Take a few out of the freezer a few minutes before eating, they thaw quickly. They also travel well, just keep them cool.
You can change the consistency by adding more or less protein powder.
I’ve estimated the calorie count to be approx. 125 per popper.
